MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) play a pivotal role in empowering young individuals with sexual education. Y-PEER Morocco, in partnership with the Faculty of Educational Sciences, identifies the importance of providing high-quality, accessible educational resources to fortify young people's understanding of sexual and reproductive health. As part of the RHRN2 project (Response to the Rights and Sexual and Reproductive Health of Young People in Morocco), we are introducing MOOCs tailored to, and contextualized for, the Moroccan environment. These courses are adapted from the modules of Rutgers and dance4Life, both globally recognized organizations in this domain.
The primary aim is to produce online certified MOOCs that bolster the sexual and reproductive health education of Moroccan youth. These courses are designed to cater to the specific needs of the youth in Morocco.
• Modify Rutgers and dance4Life modules on social intervention techniques in sexual health education to fit Moroccan realities.
• Contextualize case studies, examples, and resources within the MOOCs to be relevant for Moroccan audiences.
• Translate MOOC content into Arabic to ensure easy access and comprehension for Moroccan participants.
• Design an engaging and interactive pedagogical framework for the MOOCs, incorporating practical tasks, and both formative and summative assessments to promote learning and skill acquisition.
• Establish a certification process for participants to validate their knowledge and expertise in sexual health education.
• Comprehensive review of existing modules by Rutgers and dance4Life.
• Analyze the unique needs of Moroccan youth in sexual health education.
• Adapt resources, case studies, and examples for the Moroccan context.
• Translate MOOC content into Arabic.
• Design the pedagogical structure, integrating interactive methods, practical tasks, and assessments.
• Create educational content, including videos, readings, and interactive activities.
• Embed certification and assessment components within the MOOCs.
• Pilot testing of MOOCs to assess their effectiveness.
• Refinement based on feedback from pilot participants.
• Officially launch the MOOCs online, promote accessibility, and monitor enrollments.
• Monitor and evaluate participant performance throughout the MOOCs.
• Award certificates to successful participants.
Through this endeavor, Y-PEER PETRI Morocco aims to deliver:
